Hello WL
Wa I lucky I first one to post as its 9.51am here in US. Alamak that so called "Cheers" really bo liao la maybe get news dunno from where. I can only say its unreliable news just like the crappy XXXX Ming papers la.

All of us here who are fans of WL should know WL has no concert outside of Singapore before. If WL has any we as long time supporters sure know and may even book ticket to go over to support him like what some of us did in 2007 GCMA we fly to Hong Kong to support WL.

WL sure has many fans in overseas besides Singapore. Like now I am not in Singapore in US 2 weeks but I still come to check blog entries and find out news about WL. There are other overseas fans who frequently checked with me and other fans about WL's recent updates as they are mostly working adults might not have alot of time to surf the net for information.

I wonder how XXXX Ming papers get the % what facts and figures did they base that on? Really wonder. Suggest to their management maybe they should change their reporter who wrote the article, dunno what should report to get more readers and not to report wrong facts to loose readers. I for one boycott not going to buy their newspapers anymore unless they improve. Their reports getting more and more unreliable these days. Even my colleagues also commented they will never read those papers.

Haha WL if you like fast motorbike rides I would recommend you the rides at California Adventure. I had great time spent 2 days in California Adventure and Disneyland. But I did not ride on any of the rollercoaster rides nor scary rides but I am sure you will love them. I have recorded some videos people screaming I will let you listen yourself to judge if they are shiok enough for you. I think one is called "California Scream" and another "Terror Ride" from the name itself already can tell its scary.

Cheers

wah wei lian,

read the newspapers on sunday. that's not true la! the picture on the front page in the first place already is sala!! i was sitting on the first few rows just right behind the organisers, but i was not even in the picture, obviously the picture was taken right at the beginning when people are strolling in or when during break lor cos alot of people left for toilet break during the 25 minutes break lor. cos from that angle it is taken, confirm plus guaranty chop i will be inside wahaha not that i want to be inside the picture la. but can see people walking down the steps in the auditorium ma....

sigh..anyway, outsiders may not know what happened, but nevermind, we know what is the truth can le lor. what matters most is that you have done your part and your best and we all have already done our best, so i believe that 好心还是会有好报 de la!

charity work should be supported, and not to be made fun of or criticised. like what the chairperson of ntu has said, NO ONE SHOULD FEEL DISAPPOINTED. we definitely won't la, because we know you too well to be disappointed with you! criticism is our old friend! let's say hello to them ok? hee hee!

although reading that frontpage headline has once again dishearten me, but actually whether you are popular or not, it doesn't matter to us although we of cos wish the best for you la! but most importantly is you know what you want yourself ma hor?

Whenever we protect you, people always want to say we are biased. I always believed that all of us here have been very friendly with the media, giving all the help we can provide them, and we have always reminded ourselves to be gracious to other people's comments. I know we cannot expect people to know what we have been doing and contributing, because the list is too long and it is just not us to go around telling people all the good and kind things we have been doing, but I know, those who have benefitted from our good doings, have kept us in mind and supported us mentally, just like those times when groups and groups of jc and poly students came to seek help from you and us regarding their year end projects and you are always ever so obliging. Their smiles and the warmth they have given us are unforgettable.

Though we have met our fair share of people who have never bothered to take time to understand us and know us well enough, how you are as a friend and as an idol to many others out there, and no matter how they always attack us we keep quiet, people always want to say your popularity going down and call and harass us, the things you have always done for us we will always remember.

Thank you!

goodnight la haha! :)

Ya lor Shufang,

I was sitting next to you, but I don't see myself in the photo too. I know Qing Ming is coming la, but I still expect to see myself right? *touch wood* :P

And also between booing and cheering is totally two different resonance sounding, which I can definitely identify as I am not deaf.

Didn't know a 简单学校慈善演出可以演变成复杂的媒体吵杂. That's the main reason of our reasonable rebuttables (coz we quoted numerous evidences, not just based on one photos). While everyone is worrying about economy problems, to those who attend still fork out money and time to show support, prove otherwise that there is still 有心人士 out there. Not there we need recognition for that, but at least the decency of not attacking on something that wasn't supposed to exist in the first place.

无愧与心,做的最好...应该是每个在台上表演者应该有的心态...与表演者有共同频率, 也是我真实的观后感. :)

On the side/high note, Happy Birthday to Cassandra too! Aiyo, where got auntie leh? I always say if one always maintain the happiness level in the heart, age really doesn't matter. teehee!

Hi Fang
If the newspaper photographer or reporter go take photo when the performance has yet to start or during break then something is wrong with the person.

Next time we should take our own photos with timestamp and then show the proof that the reporter did not report accurate news.

This is a charity event and WL did it out of goodwill for free and help out the needy and yet its been labeled as his concert. I wonder if the reporter know about concert vs a small charity event. Suggest her to attend more concerts to get the exposure.

Cheers

hi stella,

i was peering closely at the papers and wonder y i din see myself. i expected to see myself lol. or at least one of us la. but since i was the only one who went off for the toilet break, i would assume i see 4 other people at the seats as well.

i think i not only transparent but i also blind. cos i SAW people behind me waving their hands gently as he sang I LOVE YOU.

Hi pat, yes, he did it for free without taking a single cent despite knowing it only few days before the event. and more than 40 of us paid the maximum cost of 50 dollars for the tickets to attend while many others brought their family members and friends along paying the minimum cost of 10 dollars and even urge their ntu friends to donate to the tickets even if they cannot make it to the event due to studies commitments.

i was really taken aback personally that despite our kind efforts we were being skewed, not to mention how many times we have always been painted in bad light despite us always trying to maintain good relations with the media here in singapore and respecting them. it's like the customer is always right in customer service, but we are always wrong.

Heh Fang and Pat,

I also saw hands waving behind us lor. (i turned around coz I saw some sort-of reflection) wahahaha! Ya, next time I will snap photos with with timestamp to prove otherwise. lol.

I must applaud the NTU students (I think is the Choir + Strikeforce, coz it was a bit dark can't see their faces exactly) when they came out after their performances, and gave the heart-warming hand-sways behind him while he was performing. Even the students treat their guest performer with respect, I don't see why should a misrepresented photo (that does no actual work to help in charity) have any right to skew things into distortion. The photo definitely is not taken at the highest peak of audience seating (people are still streaming in then).

P/S: Was there any customer service in the first place? haha!

Hope the below blogger's thoughts (莫知音人欣赏伟联的演出) can ease some tension!

http://user.qzone.qq.com/479245315/blog/1237729024

是因为眼前这个表情尴尬的人;

是因为这种表情跟这个深情的歌声融在一起;

他,如此才华,如此深情,如此低调,如此凄美!

Cheers!:D

I'm from NTU, and I would like to say the concert attendance have nothing much to do about ren qi please, I think the promotion wasn't done enough at all. My classmates and I, all who would go to the concert if we knew about it, but none of us heard about it at all, we didn' see any poster too. I was indeed quite upset to know about the concert only after it has ended... I think they should have reach out a bit more lor, everyone is very busy during semester end, we'll not actively look our for concerts or performances to attend unless we happen to come across one... No offence to those who work hard to promote it, but since it's for charity, i would think it'll be better if the promotion is abit more..then more can be helped...

Hi wei lian,

Actually I would like to ask whether you would like to grace a performace on 17 May 2009 at our carnival entitled Volunteerism- SPREAD It organised by NUS Science Volunteer club at Tampiness Mall.

This carnival is hosted with many performances from different students organisation and also food and drink stalls to attract crowds.

but most importantly, it is to promote Volunteerism to the public.
We are inviting VWO (voluntory welfare organisation) to set up their booths for free,so that people will actually be more knowledgeable about volunteering in Singapore.

Ms Eunice Olsen will be the Guest of Honour for this event and SMRT has kindly agree to sponsor our advertising...

so if ur interested, you can contact me via email to know more details!

Really really really really hope that u can at least reply to this :)

PS: though this is extra BUT im touched by your music and inspiration.
and JIAYOU Wor!!!!!!!

Hi Iris,

Do cheer up!!

I have read your detailed description of the concert...and I can see how much you people who were presence have enjoyed Weilian's performance alot. It seems really like a wonderful event, and the students performed very well too! So much so that I wish I was there too.

Don't let the reporter spoilt your mood and your day. Smile, ok?

I really despise the evening paper on publishing such low taste 'Ba Gua Xin Wen'. It is just to lure people's sensation, nothing to do with the fact!

Wei Lian, we know you well. We will always be there for you.

Those who missed last Sat's charity concert can view a recording of Weilian's touching rendition of his new song 'gu dan hao ma' - a sentimental number. It's been posted at http://blog.omy.sg/weiliankelvin/

*I do hope the video do shed some light against skewed report.

Btw, realised that Wei Lian is getting even more at ease on live stage performance. Despite some techinical problems caught up here and there, he still managed to ease tension with his own way of jokes. Jia you! :D

Sharing this thread I chanced upon whereby the famous 'mie jue shi tai' huang xiao hu and ah-mei sang. Funny yet powerful peformance of "Lan Tian" and "Ji De" (Ah-Mei really qing chang beautifully). The recording is from the Xing Guang Da Dao show:
